OUR SHORT STORY

ReNewGen was founded in 2013 by Are Larsen Otterdal. As the name indicates it is about ReNewable Energy Generation, but the idea was to give it a double meaning; the New Generation - the youth, acknowledging that it probably takes a new set of insight, thinking and guts to make that necessary change and that it can be done if we mobilise the positive power of new thinkers...

From the very beginning, the idea was to raise awareness about the climate change and other environmentally related threats, but also the opportunities that come with them. BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES related to new technology, which will not only contribute to reduction of CO2, but also improve livelihood and contribute to modernisation services that many western countries take for granted.

We started small, but over the years, the organisation has developed into  a robust team of dedicated key persons, managing operation in a total of 5 countries, namely Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan.
